Throughout 2005 we worked with the European Sponsorship Association (ESA) as their Events Partner. We were asked by the association to develop a series of events for their members - and the sponsorship industry at large - that would be both educational, and a good opportunity for networking and the cross sharing of ideas. The seminars needed to be both affordable, but also to be perceived as high-quality learning opportunities. We devised an autumn series called the ESA Evening Seminar Series, which ran throughout September, October and November 2005. The events ran from 6-8.30pm and were on targeted topics, allowing for an in depth discussion followed by drinks and canapes Over 200 individuals came to the events, which ranged from looking at the emergence of Product Placement through to the impact of mobile technology on the sponsorship industry. Communicate Sport handled the branding, marketing, content, speakers, structure, logistics, media, venue selection budget, invoicing and delegate experience for the series, on a limited budget, with a limited timeframe, and fulfilled the brief supplied to us. The events were extremely well received by the attendees, with feedback such as: 'Just the right amount of people as the evening felt intimate rather than intimidating -a good networking opportunity' 'I thought the event was spot on'
